Introduction to the tutorial and discussion about Walk Cycles
- We discuss what will be covered in this tutorial as well as discuss what a walk cycle is and where it is used
Reference Analysis and Planning
- We find and analyse our reference, and do all our necessary planning before going into Maya 2019
Setting up the Maya scene
- We bring in our Character Rig, go through and discuss the rig, and make sure everything in our Maya scene is ready for us to start animating
Blocking in key Poses
- Using our reference we create the key poses of the walk cycle
Refining the animation
- Using animation principles like overlap and offset, as well as techniques in the Maya Graph Editor, we start to refine our walk cycle animation
Polishing the animation
- Using arc tracking and the Maya Graph Editor, we polish our walk cycle animation to a high level of polish
Creating the final video of the walk cycle for presentation
- We use a simple technique to create a Playblast Video that shows off our walk cycle
